Shimano Symetre SY1000FJ Spinning Reel

Shimano reels are often overlooked because they don't sport the fancy drilled spools and high bearing counts that some manufacturers add to their reels to compensate for an overall lack of precision and quality. Don't be put off by its plain appearance. This is the best spinning reel avilable in its price range. You would have to purchase a reel in the $200-and-over range to find a better one. Even then the differences are nominal. Like all Shimano reels equiped with Fluidrive-II, Dyna-Balance, and A-RB this one is smooth, silent and built to last. The aluminum frame, Slow Oscillation and lube port features really put this one over the top though. It has all the same features as higher priced Stradic. The Symetre is made in Malaysia while the Stradic is made in Japan, hence the difference in price
